During his short four years, Wesley Cowan had one thing for sure. A proud and very hands-on father. In the days and weeks after Wesley's tragic death, Reed Cowan received letters from people all over the world who had watched this unique father-son relationship flourish and marveled at the bond between Wesley and his dad. Reed's time with Wesley was precious. When Reed was with Wes, and life got busy Wesley went with his daddy. Even heads of government were told: "This is my son. If you want my service, then you need to know up front sometimes this little boy comes with me." Wesley and his dad did everything together.
And their work continues.
The work continues in Wesley's name.
For a decade Reed Cowan has worked in school classrooms and legislative bodies to turn the tide of school violence related to bullying, harassment and intimidation in our world's schools. His book, AFRAID AT SCHOOL chronicles his story and the stories of thousands of young people and their victimization in school.
As he has served, Reed Cowan has worked. Reed is "one of the most trusted journalists in the USA." Several coveted awards for excellence in journalism have been bestowed on Reed including Emmys, Golden Mic awards and multiple Society of Professional Journalists accolades.
Now though, all professional pursuits are merely facilitators of
Reed Cowan's greater mission to unite people, educate children and serve the world through THE WESLEY SMILES COALITION.
